Oh, Avi, that's a comforting thought, but monsters don’t need a beating heart.
“I don’t want to see him,” I breathed.
My head slipped onto the pillow as Avi rolled to face me. “Then don’t.”
“My Ma will be pissed. She’ll play the victim card and people down there . . . they’d play right into it.” I sneered. “Oh, poor Mary Lu. Carmen’s such a wild girl - no wonder Mary Lu’s so uptight. I bet they never imagined she’d up and leave like that - poor Mary Lu burying her husband all alone-”
Avi hushed me and pressed a finger to my lips. “Fuck ‘em!”

The World Of Panophobia
Locations:
The majority of the story takes place in a town I've resided in for the past ten years with my husband - Corning, New York. With Panophobia based loosely off some of my personal feelings and experiences, I wanted to ground the story in a familiar place. Corning is well known for it's historic Market Street and it's world-famous glass, among other things.
A portion of the story takes place in a little town in South Carolina called Ehrhardt(Population 498), where my husband and I lived for about a year around 2013. The funeral home, Pastor James, and Carmen's childhood home are based on real people and locations.
